Starting our new thread.....now to figure out how to close the old one...or do we need to??? :confused3

Hi all! We've moved and I didn't even have to pack or clean out the house! :thumbsup2

Posting Irene style -

-we're waiting word from John's parents to see if they want to get a quote for a family cruise in 2011 with John's sister and her family. His parents originally planned 2010 until the prices were released and decided to hold off until John's nephews were 5 and 7 and they could enjoy the amenities more.

-I know, not quite comparing apples to apples since the cruise lengths are different on the dream...Just researched prices with RCCLs newest ships Oasis and Allure for a 7 day cruise at about the same summer time frame in 2011. $6000 for the 4 of us in the lowest category balcony. $4000+ for an interior. I would definitely want a balcony on that big of a ship.

- Stacey and Maria, I know of a personal trainer who would be willing to come to your houses and who specializes in both aqua aerobics and abs ;)

-marching band, marching band and more marching band here. We finish out with a bus trip to Indianapolis for a competition November 11-15. Yep, I'm crazy enough to chaperone that one, too. Got a Sony e-reader for our anniversary, I'm loading up on books - the battery won't last the entire trip, so I'll have to bring along a paper copy to tide me over until I can recharge it.

It'll be a fight our bus over who will control the DVD player between the color guard, brass players and the chaperones. Last two trips the color guard won and we watched some really bad chick flick, teenager movies. Hopefully the guys won't try seek revenge with Friday the 13th parts 1-675... :rotfl2:

I'm thinking a Jane Austin marathon would be nice, or maybe something with subtitles... :rolleyes1

Hope everyone is doing ok these days. I've been so busy that I haven't even been lurking & have lost track of what everyone is up to.

We had a good Halloween but it was WET! Oh well. The kids had fun & that's all that matters. Now I'm focusing on the DCL House Party that I'll be hosting on the 14th.

Doubt we'll be sailing on the Dream in '11. The prices that I saw online were more for a 5-night than we have paid for a 7-night. It was almost $1000/day for the 4 of us for an inside cabin ... too much for us.

Ang

I'll send a note to the mods to close the old one.

But Monica, you would have to move here so that you could work with me all the time. Now there's a good excuse to give John for moving!

Hey, Ang! We're finally going to have a nice (dry) week here in metro Atlanta!! :yay:

Count us out for the Dream in '11 too. :sad2:

We had a great time at Food and Wine on Friday night with Virgil and Frances.

The weather was perfect and the crowds were light. Going during the week sure does make a difference.

Frances, being a true Harry Potter fan, was able to find the entrance to the Ministry of Magic.

Cute!

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

Love the picture of Frances!

Stacey has been over on the main boards again! :lmao: Not that I disagree!

True, How about I start with a shorter time frame to see if it works. Like, Jan 20- April 1. We could have a spring training theme :thumbsup2

Monica - here is a first, I am stealing your update so that I can respond - how's that for being lazy.

Let's see....I take a day on the road and you all move - really, was is something I said? Didn't say? Meanwhile...

SCOOPIE - is ready to go on the road again. Should he head home for Thanksgiving? Or does he have travel plans....Let me know so I can pack him safely....

Monica - Family cruise - that will be fun......Good luck with the research. I'd like to see the Oasis - does anyone know if you can tour the ships anymore when they are in port?

And about that personal trainer...I think you need to add West Palm to the list..I have become very lazy - BAD, very Bad, I know.

Best of luck with marching band. One of my colleages has a son in marching band - he keeps me posted...Do the kids ever sleep???

Missed the Jane Austin reference - will have to go back and re-read posts...

Meanwhile - Happy Tuesday and subscribing...

Irene, don't read too far for the Jane Austin reference- it was my lame attempt at humor complaining about the last band road trip, the color guard hogged the DVD player and we were forced to endure really bad chick flick, teenager angst movies. I'm threatening a Jane Austin or a subtitled marathon, if the movies don't improve.

I'd be happy to add your location to the personal training schedule! I highly recommend to all my clients that they bring me with them on vacation so they can continue their routines! :thumbsup2 I'll skip the dive boats :rotfl2:

No plans here for Thanksgiving other than John's parents are visiting for their first Thanksgiving with us.

I was in a very cranky mood, and should have just turned off the computer and backed away. But so far, I haven't heard from any Mods or WM's that I need to back off.....:rolleyes1

Okay...so I'll unload on you guys INSTEAD of on the main boards. :rotfl:

The reason for my crankiness...other than the "usual" as Jay would say....

I just started selling on eBay....have sold 3 items so far.
The very first item, I was so excited at selling. For one thing, it was a lot of money...to me, anyway.....the lady who bought it had contacted me several times during the auction, she really wanted this necklace badly.
So she won, and she got it yesterday. Then she contacted me (through eBay) and said "It doesn't match the earrings I have, so it really wasn't what I was hoping for. I am returning it".
:headache::sad::mad::sad:
Come ON....the pictures on there are really good ones, the description is accurate, the appraisal form was pictured, and you could enlarge all of it!!! How much more could she have expected out of it????
I'm a really good buyer. I have NEVER returned anything, even if it didn't fit or I was a bit disappointed. I have always thought that I made a commitment to the seller and I honored it. I think I will list things without a return policy from now on. I should know, even by reading these boards, that there are a lot of people out there who just will not be happy, no matter what.

And again, I have to hand it to you, Diana, for working so hard at eBay sales. It isn't an easy job by any stretch of the imagination!

I wondered what you posted on the main boards....Stacey - I am sorry this happened but it was a good life lesson so to speak. I have purchased a few things, very few, on e-bay and they are all WITHOUT a return policy. Rarely have I been disappointed but when I was, and if I checked, I saw it was my omission for failing to review the pictures carefully enough. I am going to send you a pm on some other hints.

...

Funny timing about the personal trainer discuss. Three weeks ago I hired one.

I'm gearing up for a race in April that I want to do well in and wanted to make sure I was doing the correct training. My trainer is setting the schedule and emailing it weekly to me. We only meet once a month. Yesterday was our November meeting and well worth it.

It's nice knowing I have a plan and that I have to report in. Accountablility is a strong motivator.
