Thank you and enjoy. If possible to observe or ask if all rooms have been refurbished that would be great. We will be there in late April and are wondering if they are complete. Hoping for a refurbished room. Thanks and have fun.

Should've been more specific in my request for a "partial savannah view" room. The "part" I got to see was the top of the trees. Otherwise, I could see a roof drain!
 
We are at AKL now. Checking out on Sunday. That was our original plan. Bus service is sub par. Yesterday we waited 45 minutes for a bus from Epcot. I’m now on a bus from AK for which we waited 25 minutes and then sat another 20 minutes before departing. Bus to the parks is spotty. We would often just choose whatever bus came first. The resort itself is nice, but I won’t choose it again. (We timed all of the buses with stopwatches). There were a couple times with short waits, but the long waits were the norm.

Oh! We're coming in September. The only thing I anticipated as a possible problem was that Jambo is the second stop and I have an ECV. I was thinking we might have to go over to Kidani to get on the bus there (being the second stop was a problem at BCV with ECVs and they never called for another bus, so I eventually went over to the Yacht Club. Otherwise, I waited a couple times for over an hour). Didn't think of general bus waits at AKL.

This is our first stay here. We did some exploring of the resort, and the walkway to Kidani is nice, but takes about 10 minutes to traverse. but haven’t found a clear way to walk/scooter over to Kidani. Maybe we just have bad luck with the buses and you’ll do fine. We have gotten used to YC and BWI where walking to DHS and Epcot is so easy.

I will be staying at AKL from 6/28-7/3, if you don’t mind adding me when you get a moment :) thank you!
 
I'm looking at staying at AKL in mid-October; we were supposed to be at the Poly in a week, but... well, you know. Anyway, my TA has a quote for a standard view and I've asked her to also quote savanna view - king size bed somewhere in Jambo. It's just me and my 6 yr old daughter. I'm seeing a lot of photos of standard view rooms with pretty awesome views of the animals; is it worth it to take my chances on a standard room and hope for a decent view? We'll be in the parks most of the time, though we'll have at least one rest day baked into our trip.

We will be rescheduling our 3/30 - 4/6 visit, I’m waiting a few days until the phones settle down & to see if United cancels our flights, not yet sure to when or which resort, hopefully AKL. At least December is still a go as of now.

I'm going in Oct (had it booked since last April) but so many people seem to be scheduling their cancelled trip for October so I think this month is going to be quite busy. If you want to ensure you have the views, I would book it just to be safe x
 
We were in Jambo House almost 2 weeks ago in a passholder discounted standard room . I requested a room near the lobby.
When I checked in, the CM said “ Here is your room, a nice savanna view on the Zebra Trail”.
I was so happy to have Savanna view ! Our room was about 1/2 way between the lobby and the elevator to the pool/Mara,
Busses were great! Food was wonderful.
This was maybe my 4th/5th time there, always with a good discount. 😂
It’s my favorite resort and if I could afford it I would stay there all the time!

I think you're ok in a standard room. We got a limited view with a standard room a few years ago and according to touring plans, there are a lot of these types of rooms. Use the touring plans reservation request to pick a room with a limited savanna view. The cost savings is huge for us for our May trip. And you of course can walk out to see the animals from the lodge on that mini trail (forgot the name).
