Are the Minnie heads and flowers all appliques?
Yes, this was my first real try at appliques.

Okay ladies, here is the next item in my Knock-Off Boutique. The original was posted by obsessedwiththemouse. I have to give a big thanks to everyone for sharing their ideas and pictures. I'm not very good at coming up with my own designs but that is my next challenge. I plan to brainstorm tomorrow while I tackle that 12 hour shift.
The Minnie ears look a little warped in the picture but that's just how the dress is hanging. I wish I could post pics of DD in the outfit but I've promised DH I would not post pics of the kids anymore.
I'm even more impressed! That must have taken a lot of time and patience. Beautiful!Yes, this was my first real try at appliques.
I mark half way and quarterway marks on my fabrics that I am joining, that way, they match and the gathers are even. Patterns tell you to make a point on the edges of the fabric; I use a fabric pen. Like a wash-away pen, or a disappearing pen. Good luck!
This is one that I'm working on now too, but I ran out of fusible web and stabilizer, at the same time... So I have to run to my favorite place, Walmart tomorrow.
We go in early September. Designed*by*Dena is going to make a Jojo set for me.

I love your JoJo outfit. Is the top based on a commercial pattern or is it something you created yourself? It looks like a great versatile pattern.

We should have a custom/boutique Disers meeting at WDW. We could all plan to meet for a special meal. I'm sure our little ones would get major attention in a group.

I've never seen anything on Hancock's, but I do know that Joanns has some. My mom found the one in my signature online, and I know that she's making some pirate Mickey outfits and she found another website that carries the fabric. If that's something that you're looking for, let me know, and I can ask her where she got it.Does anyone see any treasure map/pirate themed fabric on hancocks website?
I'm in too! It's not "too" long of a drive for us. And, I agree that I don't see a LOT of custom outfits, even as much as we chat around here. That's a great idea! I'm in!
Pictures!I am officially hooked! I made my first boutique bows tonight and they look AWESOME!!!! Now if I could just learn to applique!
