There's a new category for the next hunt.

I'm amending my Americana to be a 2 category shot, it would also work as Patriotic since it is Uncle Sam with Mickey Mouse.

Wanna join in too? I think it might be kinda cool if we all focussed on foodie shots this week. That way, everyone will know to eat first for this weekend...




I'm planning to load up on my Saturday....so that would be Friday night for the US....or Saturday morning for you, depending on how crazy my weekend gets.

I think I will! It will be challenging food wise this week as both DS's are getting their wisdom teeth out, but I will see what I get.

I don't think I could either. I am hoping to fill a lot of my missing categories in two weeks when I am in WDW. We are driving so there will be some good opportunities on the road.

Yes...it is a Gravestone Angel I'd like to request that we remove this category from next year's hunt. This gravestone was depressingly for an 8 year old.

Horizon Still on the hunt for one with Sunset and I plan to have one before mid September. Been too cold and wet to get out and about at the moment.

Vacation Souvenirs Some of you may recognise this printer's tray from last year's hunt category of My Hobby. It is a new shot, taken with the UWA lens...
The tray is filled with Vacation Souvenirs that I collect from my travels around the world.

...but there is an item in the top left hand corner that is a curious things. This is my Yard Sale Find and I was completely ROBBED by the people that sold it to me.

I bought this in 2000. We were visiting DH's cousin in Dallas and I went for a walk around the block. I was intrigued by signs that said "yard sale" so I followed them. I found the house with the sale and was determined to purchase something. Everything was too big to carry home and in the end I picked up the barrel, which is a toothpick holder. It was marked 25 cents and the lady checked the price and everything! I handed the lady $1 and she gave me back 50 cents in change. I think she figured that being Aussie I wouldn't know the difference in coins. I was too polite to say anything....but on reflection....its the first time I've ever paid DOUBLE what something is worth.....and its the worst case of daylight robbery I've ever had the misfortune to encounter anywhere in the world.

Sporting Event and Ball in Air

Muddy Cleats I was stalking at the weekend and waited for someone to fall over so that I could get a shot of their muddy cleats! I waited...and waited....and finally someone did fall over and I think I got a reasonable shot of their shoes and cleats, with some mud. So intent was I at focussing on the muddy cleats that I missed all the action! Action???....when I came home to look at the picture...well...the person wearing the muddy cleats fell over and ripped his tight white shorts. I ended up with the picture of the shoes and him wearing those compression tights (yes, skin coloured tights) with no shorts nor underwear. I got a LOT more than I bargained for in the shot (and I'm not just talking about bare bahookie). Sadly, I don't believe I can post this particular shot on the Dis. I might get arrested for porn (and not the food kind!).

I note that you've made it to 11 posts (congratulations!). I believe that if you tried posting pictures before you got to 10 posts, the Dis would not have let you do so. You need to have had a minimum of 10 posts before you can post pictures.

Have you tried again?

I don't know much about Picassa but I believe it has the ability to webshare and there should be no issue if that is the case. If not, most of the photo regulars are using Flickr, Smugmug or Photobucket.

DS celebrated his birthday lately. Don’t ask me how it happened, but we seem to have gotten into a four-event party week….


Celebration #1 – DS at the party with his friends, with a lemon sponge cake.

Celebration #2 Decadent – Individual portions of Chocolate Mud cakes for DS, DH and me.

Celebration #3 Delicious – Homemade Vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting for DS to share with his classmates.

Celebration #4 Frozen Goodness – Icecream cake to share with the extended family.
