There was a shipwreck at sea and Buck, Lance and Jack were washed ashore on a small island. Reaching the shore, exhausted, they all fell asleep. Buck woke first and saw that a box of bananas had been washed ashore. He ate one third of the bananas and went back to sleep. Next, Lance woke up and seeing the box of bananas, ate one third of what was left and fell asleep. Jack woke up next and assumed that the other two hadn't eaten any bananas, so he ate one third of what remained. When Jack had finished, there were eight bananas left over.

How many bananas were in the box originally?

Friday's:

The ages of a father and son add up to 66. The father's age is the son's age reversed.
How old could they be? (3 possible solutions).

51 and 15. 42 and 24. 60 and 06.

Another solution given was 33 and 33! :)

Good Morning Riddle Friends! Anyone else off from work today? I am and I plan on being sick in bed all day with an occasional pop in on the DIS...

I have no idea on the riddle yet but I will re-read and think some more.

'Morning Amid! :) I'm off to work as normal today. The kids have the day off though.

WELCOME BACK DIANE! :)

Can't wait to hear all about your trip! :) WE MISSED YOU! :)

Morning, OK! Great spot for breakfast today!

Just a comment about Friday's riddle and today's.....I HATE NUMBERS!!!:p

We had a great trip, but now it seems things have piled up for the house. All sorts of problems I have to straighten out today! Just little annoyance things like the garden window installed upside down and the wrong size window ordered and installed in the grooming room. One big issue too where the window company mistakenly sent windows for the bedroom that are 2 feet longer than what was ordered. At first I thought we would go ahead and put the bigger windows in, but after looking at things, I think not. Have to go choose front doors too today! That is a good thing since it means we are closer to getting everything closed in!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Helopoh, I hope a good day's rest will get you feeling better.....:)

Diane, sounds like you've got quite a day ahead of you!!!

Amid - I really like the looks of this place....

Looks like they feed everybody well too! :)

PM sent. I am going through Disney restaurant withdrawal! We had some really great meals there this time!

O'Hanna's has dropped off our "good eats" list, but we have added 1900 Park Fare. Our favorite is still Mitsokoshi Teppanyaki Dinning room in the Japan pavilion.

Morning friends:wave:

Welcome back diane!

Isn't there some rule against doing math on a Monday morning? :bounce: ;)

I'm sure there is Mickey!!!

Welcome back, Diane. :)

Good morning Oldkicker and riddle friends. :)

One banana, two bananas, three bananas, four.......

Good morning everyone. Today I start a Long Term subbing job with middle school LD children. There's some needy children in my classes so it will be a challenge! I look forward to it, tho.:D

Good Morning Riddlers!!

Mickey, I agree with you, we need to check the riddle rule book:teeth:

Welcome Back Diane!:D

We had a 12 hour delay at the Puerto Rico airport and never got home until 7:00 a.m. Saturday. Still trying to catch up on my sleep.

Here's a link to my photos for anyone who missed it.

Hiya, Mickey! I didn't realize that I had done two math riddle in a row too. I'm really messing up this morning. :)

Hiya, Kim! Keep counting! :)

Gina. The whole tune...

There's a fruit store on our street
It's run by a Greek.
And he keeps good things to eat
But you should hear him speak!
When you ask him anything, he never answers "no".
He just "yes"es you to death, and as he takes your dough
He tells you

"Yes, we have no bananas
We have-a no bananas today.
We've string beans, and onions
Cabashes, and scallions,
And all sorts of fruit and say
We have an old fashioned tomato (toe-mott-o)
A Long Island potato (po-tott-0)
But yes, we have no bananas.
We have no bananas today."

Business got so good for him that he wrote home today,
"Send me Pete and Nick and Jim; I need help right away."
When he got them in the sotre, there was fun, you bet.
Someone asked for "sparrow grass" and then the whole quartet
All answered

"Yes, we have no bananas
We have-a no bananas today.
Just try those coconuts
Those all-nuts and doghnuts
There ain't many nuts like they.
We'll sell you two kinds of red herring,
Dark brown, and ball-bearing.
But yes, we have no bananas
We have no bananas today."

:p :p

Hiya, Sandi! I just LOVED your pictures! It sounds like you had a perfect vacation.....except for the delay.

Inquiring minds want to know......are you now more anxious to do the Caribbean Island thing??? I know you really wanted to go to WDW!

Good luck, Kitty, on the long term sub job! I've never taught.....it does seem like a real challenge to step into an existing classroom and try to make order from chaos!

Hi, Diane! Welcome back!

WELCOME BACK, SANDI! :)

Mickey!
