Help !!! I just got a call from DSVC saying that

After everything, how was your trip ?

  • It went great, no problems.

  • It had a few problems, but they were fixed nicely and quickly.

  • It had a few problems and it was not fixed to my satisfaction but was attempted.

  • It had problems and we did not get what was promised.

  • The change was a disaster and I am still upset.

  • Explain what happened.....

Absolutely!! That is exactly how it should have happened!! Why oh why did the brainiacs at Disney not read their own documents to see it!!!

I know that I, being the owner of another resort, would not have been happy but certainly would have understood had they followed their own guidelines. These folks should have recieved owners priority at their own resort!

Seems the concierge level for DVC members is pretty popular. Perhaps they should consider building a concierge lounge in Kidani and assign some more villas as concierge!

We can only wish !! :worship: :worship:

OK so if part of the resort becomes uninhabitable, everyone that traded into that resort should move down the totem pole and be returned home, before 1 owner is completely displaced from their home. Will they be upset, yes, but that is fair. Your 7 month points should never have advantage over 11 month points. That is what we all purchased and that protects all members.

They could have bumped members back home or to comparable resorts because they were not staying in concierge. The concierge guests could then stay home and have access to the lounge. To put concierge guests at SSR with no comparable equivalent to a lounge is beyond asinine (sp?) and should not be tolerated.

ITA with this. If AKV is your home resort, you should have priority over those who booked at the 7 mo window, or inventory that may have been booked by non-members.

well, my DH just told me that DVC called while I was grocery shopping and all he says that they said was that they were waiting for approval for something and they would call back on Monday. I don't know what it is about but now I have to wait until Monday to find out. Makes me wish I had waited to go food shopping til tomorrow,

Ok, am starting to get nervous. As was told this morning by MS that my 2bdr room reservation (10/18-10/25) will not be affected by the partial closure. Has anyone else gotten confirmation that they are not affected??

I would call and call. Ask if you can speak to Maggie or Jessie or someone on their team. Demand to.

When Jessie came on the line with me today, she said that the entire 6th floor was closed from Sept until 10/28, which may have just been to keep me from asking why we were being moved instead of someone else.

I dont think IPO is clear on what is happening, and the regular reps seem to have not been notified of this change, because when I called to speak to someone this morning, I had a heck of a time convincing the lady I spoke to that there was even an issue.

Good luck, and again, I won't begrudge ya if you get to keep your villa. This is just ridiculous. I am far more fired up tonight than I was when I spoke to them. They caught me a little off guard. I did call and leave my guide a not so happy voice mail. The thing about the POS got me fired up too. I will be quite ticked if someone booked at 7 months and is sitting in a 2BR at AKV and I am stuffed in at SSR when I booked at 11 months DBD. I will be bringing that up on the phone tomorrow, along with the fact that my friend has now decided if my son does not have a place to sleep, he will just stay home.

Unfortunate that this happened. Both he and my sister are single, are rather well off financially, and were anxious to check out AKV. They are really unimpressed with the way DVC treats their members at this moment in time. My friend said that he received better compensation when he had to change rooms at a plain old hotel in San Francisco after 2 days because the plumbing needed work. That is part of the reason I am so fired up. I have talked up DVC to anyone and everyone since the day I bought into SSR, and now I feel kind of foolish.

Maybe I should have saved my money and booked us into an overbooked value resort. We would have ended up with the same room for alot less money, apparently, and gotten free dining to boot.

We were booted from our reservation 10/4-10/11 yesterday. And yes, we have talked to Maggie at least 3 times with the same answers, which differ from the answers those who weren't booted are getting. Like we were told no one would be on club level period and the lounge itself would be closed...by Maggie. She's apparently told others different things.

They put us in a one bedroom at BWV with access to BWI and returned some points. Not comparable to that AKV concierge reservation we have had for 11 months, but given the options others have been given, I'll take it at this point.

Nevermind the PIA of it all, I just wanted to tell the rest of the exiles to either call AKV or BWI concierge and ask for help with changing your ADRs. BWI concierge was very helpful today and got us every ADR we requested at Epcot and the Boardwalk. They were apologetic and said they would do everything they could to help us, and I feel like they did. Mending DVC's mess, I suppose.

I emailed Member Satisfaction today asking for an explanation of why some reservations were held while others weren't (b/c I want to know, even if I accept the situation). More importantly, I wanted to know if they would give us any further priority as AKV owners in booking another concierge level stay since they robbed us of this one. No freebies, just call me and ask me when I would like to book again, and book it for me, regardless of 11 month time frames.

You know, AKV concierge for Thanksgiving week 09 would be nice. Take my points and book me now! ;) A girl can hope can't she? I just want my lost stay replaced!

Bingo bango! That is what I keep trying to tell dh...he said Maggie was so sincere in what she said, why would she lie? Uh, so she doesn't have to deal with your grumpy butt??? That is exactly what she told him 2, 3, 4 times...I forget how many times he called her, lol. Before he spoke with her, the other reps had NO clue about any renovations or canceled reservations. Maggie told him a specific team was dealing with the canceled guests. He had the same issue the first time he called and had to call back until he could speak with Maggie.

I certainly don't want any other guests reservations pulled, I would just like to know what exactly happened to mine!

I'll call tomorrow and ask for either Maggie or Jesse. Will also call my guide Audrey. At this point of the game, I just want a room guaranteed anywhere on Disney property and any point difference. I think we need to start emailing/mailing/calling Disney corporate to make them aware of what is going on. I have a feeling Jim Lewis and his staff have been sweeping all the problems under the rug.

I have a 1 bdrm book Oct 11 to Oct 18th in AKV Concierge and my friend also has a 1 bdrm Concierge booked the same time.

We both have not heard anything?????????????????

Not sure what to do?????????? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :scared1:

Call Member Services. I had heard NADA until I called yesterday and bugged them. They finally let me know this afternoon that yes, we were SOL and being moved. I have no idea when they would have gotten around to calling me had I not bothered to find out for myself.

As noted above though, be persistent. The reps do not seem to have been told about this, so you need to tell them there is a refurb happening and you WANT to speak to the team that is handling it. If they are not in, leave a number for them to call you. And good luck! :thumbsup2

I agree with calling. It's possible that if you wait, nothing will be available at all when/if you are finally notified.

I'm sorry everyone is in this mess, myself included. I cannnot believe how badly all of this is being handled. At least notify people before they find out themselves. It's Disney, don't they know how fast word travels??

At least my editor and I had decided that I would write about my December trip and not this one for the paper. Oooh, what an article that would have been !!

For everyone who has been moved, be sure to check your "points available to bank" balance very closely. While my "total points remaining" was increased by 8 (difference between concierge and savannah view for 4 nights), my "available to bank" did not increase. I called MS this morning, and they are going to work on correcting it for me.

Update: I just checked my balances and they have corrected it. Whew!

hmm, what a great idea. Write an article about this experience! Never mind your December trip, this one would be soooo much more interesting.;)

lol, don't even bother talking to Reggie the supervisor about what is going on, he is apparently even more ill-informed than Maggie. I called and just asked for an explanation about how it was being handled. I think I explained more to him than he did to me. While Maggie at least tried to come up with something to say to pacify us, Reggie mostly just said "Uh huh", "mmm hmmm", and "right". That's always a sign of someone who has no clue, is trying to hide something, or is busy making next week's grocery list and not listening.

Basically he couldn't speak or comment on anything other than telling me that anyone can say anything on a message board. :lmao: NO?!?! :scared1: GET OUT?!??! Are you serious? And here I was thinking that we were all bound by some code of honor.

So for those of you that were given different info than us, Reggie says you are liars, lmao. Not really. He was just trying to deflect and get me off the phone. Easily done when you aren't getting any input from the other end of the line!

Sorry for not seeing this yet, but what is the time frame that AKV is being impacted? It sounds like it is right in the middle of food and wine.
Thanks,
Mike
