I heard back from Disney and apparently we are at the limit for wine tasting so it is now officially........ Closed. The final total number is 52!
I just had a thought. We were planning on using our ATM to pay for our excursions but if I'm not mistaken, there is a daily limit to how much can be withdrawn. I'll need to speak with the ta about this and I'm thinking I may pick up euro travelers checks to pay for the private excursions.
One other note. Did anyone notice that most video blogs and photos from the 4/24 sailing showed people in jackets and long sleeves?:confused3

:wave2:
I'm sure your Daughter will pick up many different accents during the cruise ! She will surely have fun with that :goodvibes

Picking out our Pirate Outfits tonights----closets here we come-----I'm sure we can find something in there pirate:

Wait until she hears us...I was born in Illinois but have lived in the South for 44 years. :)

I found a full pirate handkerchief from our 2007 cruise and an eyepatch. I think Susan and Katy are doing something similar to their wench look.

It's been cold in the north (Barcelona). They also had 20 ft waves last night...breaking dishes, sick passengers, deck activities canceled. Good that all that is getting wrung out now so it'll be nice for us. Wow...there's a big low pressure right over the Med...I can see why the weather is bad. :wizard:

Similiar situation on our Magic Cruise back in 1999. Leaving Florida we hit bad weather, BIG waves and many sick passengers----our Waiter turned Green and we didn't see him until Dinner the next evening :scared1:

Here's hoping for blue skies and calm seas form May 15 to 26 :goodvibes

Oh, wow! That sounds really cool! I'm going to have to do more reading about this museum. Sounds like something I'd really enjoy. Sort of similar to the underground tours of Seattle, only older! Thanks, Jeff!

I always pick up accents. It just happens. I have a really good ear for accents, and I just start talking that way. When I spent 6 months in England, my Mom was all jazzed that I would come home with an English accent. Unfortunately, I went to visit my sister in Israel "on the way home", and spent a lot of time in the company of a gal from Brooklyn. Guess which accent I came home with???

I have to be careful, because sometimes people think I'm making fun of their accent. But I can't help it!

You can take the train from La Spezia to any of the towns in the Cinque Terre or you can take a ferry.

Florence is a long way away and to me it will be hard to appreciate it in a few hours. I spent 3 days there in 2007 so I am going to Cinque Terre. But you should see Florence sometime before you die. :) It is absolutely amazing.

We were just watching Rick Steves tour Cinque Terre and it looks absolutely amazing! I think we will save Florence for when we can spend a week:) How long do you plan to spend in Cinque Terre and are you taking the train or the ferry?

Karen,

Are you still interested in the Florence tour with us?
Hi Cindy, Sorry for the delay. Had to wait for Rich to get home from work. We are going to pass on Florence. We are planning to go to Cinque Terre instead but thanks for all the information. I hope you can connect with someone else.:)

I plan on taking the train. Figure I would just go until I got tired or bored. :) I bought the Rick Steves Cinque Terre book and was planning on doing the self-guided tours.

OK, I think there's enough interest in the Montjuic Magic Fountain to call it a DIS meet. Here's the info on the Fountain:

To get there via the Metro, you need to get to the Espanya Station, which is on both the Green Route and the Red Route. It's a short walk from the Metro Station to the Fountains. We will meet on the side of the fountain facing the Espanya Metro Station. It's a popular tourist attraction so for the best viewing you need to get there early. We'll try to get there by 8:15-8:30 pm and have our lanyards on so we can be recognized.
This sounds good to me, Jeff! If I'm conscious, I'll be there! Hopefully I can hook up with the others at the Eurostars & we can travel there together. Sounds cool!

This thread is exploding and I just can't keep up! Well, I'll try:

A big :welcome: to all the newbies. I can't believe we still have newbies when the cruise is just a week away from sailing! And 100+ staterooms... WOW.

Jeff - thanks for posting the FE deck plan on the website.

We are planning on taking the train to Cinque Terre as well. It's less than 10 minutes from La Spezia!

I started playing a game with DD a week ago: "Where will we be two weeks from today?"

Am gonna make my own FE and fill in for my two, will also add so bits to radom ones i see(i will put a tag so you know who the strangers is) lol xxxxxxxxx

I have a few extras for the little ones too so we'll add your little ones to our list. Nothing like seeing their excited faces when they dig into the FE pockets...

Can I add our name to the DIY Rome Group? I like the safety in numbers thought process because we are directionally challenged family!

Absolutely. I've added you to my list. The plan is to meet around 7:30 and those who are ambitious may take off right away to catch the 7:59 train. Personally, I'm planning on taking the 8:41 train.

Is anyone flying British Airways worried about the strike? I read that voting (on whether or not to strike again) will end Thursday and the earliest strike date is May 14. That's the day we're leaving London for Barcelona!

I am flying out of Barcelona after the cruise to LHR so Im kinda nervous about the strike, I am supposed to meet up with my tour that day!

There's no way we'd be missing the cruise due to an airline strike! We looked into booking a new flight to BCN and it was $800 pp:eek:! DH looked into the rail alternative (Rail Europe). It actually sounded like a neat experience spending the night in a sleeper rail car (except for the £778.50 fare for the 3 of us). But that's definitely Plan B if the strike happens on May 14 and Bristish Airways can't reschedule us.

YAAAAA yes pls ill have a lanyard............umm what are they lol but defo want one for all of us heheh (let me know if i need to pay you) No worries about the meets i miss (wine tasting and palo) Am just so so happy i havent missed out on everything!!! You guys are FAB ( Sorry am just sooo looking forward to it all and this board makes it soo special) x:love:

Welcome to the boards. This is our first cruise as well and these boards have made it so exciting! I can make a few more FE's so I will add you guys to my list as well. :goodvibes

Hello!! I would like to join in on the fun if thats okay! This will be our first Disney Cruise and we are extremely excited. Family consists of myself, hubby, daughter (3yrs), son (2yrs old), Grandmom, Grandpop, and Sister. Can I add our name to the DIY Rome Group? I like the safety in numbers thought process because we are directionally challenged family!

Can't wait to meet everyone!! :goodvibes

Welcome to the boards!! This is a great group and I'm sure we are all in for an incredible time. Since you will be joining us for the Rome group perhaps it's not too late for Jeff to add you to the lanyards. :goodvibes

Connie, I will be praying that the strike doesn't disrupt our flight. Those prices are outrageous. Of course we won't be missing our ship so we'll pay it if we have too.

Okay, good night all. I look forward to reading another 8 pages tomorrow night!! :thumbsup2
