Hi Erik,

If you change your mind about waiting for NYS, then come up here to Toronto. There's a thriving industry to help you set up your wedding, or you can just trot on down to city hall.

If you do decide to come up here, let me know and I'll help you set it up! As you're probably aware, there's a very vibrant GLTT (is that the right set of initials?) community. I'm not part of it, but have friends who are.

In any case, you guys should do what's right for you - although I know your DIS friends would love to attend an on-ship ceremony! :cheer2:

Best regards,
Richard

Yes, we love Toronto. We go there once a year or so for a weekend away.....last trip there together was this past summer and we went to the Toronto Zoo (which is really big) and hung out downtown, shopped at Eaton Center.....and then went to the African Lion Safari on our way back to NY State. It was fun. We always try to keep an eye on what shows are being done up there, too, because we're huge broadway musical nuts and Toronto is cheaper and closer than NYC for us.

Actually, he not so subtly ignored my post!!lol

LOL no I was coaching so away from the boards....although I should be clear....that any major expenditures I let Jason take care of....he makes the big $$ in our relationship :thumbsup2 He is a software engineer in the for profit world.....I am a lowly non-profit healthcare activist/advocate!! :lmao:

you know its funny - i've always thought of New york as so progressive but that is really a bit backwards. i hope they sort themselves out soon and allow you and Jason the beautiful home wedding you are dreaming of.

Agreed!! We were a little stunned when the NY Senate rejected the marriage bill in December 2009. In fact, actually, we were at WDW with our dear friends (who SHOULD be on this cruise with us) Hadley (NHDisneylover) and her family. I got a text as we were walking through Animal Kingdom the afternoon of the vote telling me that we'd lost....and I immediately called my Senator's local office (who voted No on marriage) and gave him a piece of my mind!! Standing right outside the Yak & Yeti waiting to be seated!! :rotfl2: I'm sure THAT was an interesting phone call for bystanders to overhear!! :thumbsup2

:)

Look in the last message I sent - it is the same link as for the wristbands

Krisann

Got it entered. Thanks

Someone asked in an earlier post about cruises in 2012. We are planning on Alaska; alas, probably not Disney because we want to do a one-way cruise and a land tour to Denali.

About the bubble net fishing/feeding: I know Candy Apple posted a response but here's some additional first-hand info. When you're on a whale-watching boat, you can always tell where the whales will be coming up during their bubble netting because the birds start circling overhead - it's a free meal for them! You'll notice the surface of the water almost looks like it's boiling; it's the fish trying to escape from the whales. The birds will dive in and then the whales will breach with their mouths wide open. It's not until they break the surface that they close their mouths and swallow all of the fish that they've captured.

After observing several of these evolutions, we noticed that the birds were circling directly overhead our boat. Sure enough, the water came alive with fish all around us and pretty soon we had whales coming up alongside, erupting into the air. One was so close to the side of the boat where I was standing that I could have reached out and touched it. My thought was, "We need a bigger boat!" :rotfl2:

I can provide the name of an excellent whale-watching boat captain for anyone who might be interested.

Now, back to the TransAtlantic....

Wow! That would be an amazing experience!

We got married in DC and had the same feelings you do about our state, but we live 3 miles from DC and our state recognizes the marriage. We are a bit older and after checking the tax advantages in the event one of us dies it is much better for us to be married. In Maryland if you are not married and own a house with rights of survivorship the serviving owner has to pay 10% inheritance tax on the other person's have of the house at the value upon their death. That can be a lot of money and now we are not in that situation. I think New York will eventually get there and legalize same sex marriage, I just hope it is soon.

We had our wedding bands made by a jeweler in P-Town when we were on a R-Family Vacations cruise to Canada 2 years before we got married. I think getting your rings on this trip is a wonderful idea.

Yes I know you did....I remember seeing you post about it on the LGBT boards and Jason and I were both so thrilled for you. We have many friends in the area who have decided to get married elsewhere and then come home....and like I said we may decide to do so, as well, eventually. Jason has family in Vermont...so that is an option. Toronto, Boston & DC are both fabulous cities...so they'd all be fun, too. It's legal in Spain....so maybe we'll just up and decide to elope while we're ashore in Barcelona during the trip!! :lmao::lmao:

I am now an offical champagne gal. I got my cheap $2.99 tiara. Very pretty. made of cheap plastic pink and clear beads. I pink fluffy head band and a few pink ribbons too it :lmao: Got my pink shirt now to find the pink boa. The hunt is on:).

That sounds perfect, now we just need a place to party
!

AWESOME - we can celebrate the newlyweds!!! :cool1::rotfl2:

How do you go about renewing your vows, either on the ship or on Castaway Cay?

We called the Disney Wedding number (407)566-6418. They sent us a package to fill out and we chose the date we wanted for the cruise we were on. I think the cost is 2500.00 and that is for everything including 8 guests (each guest after that is an additional 20.00). When I say everything, I mean the cermony, officiant and reception. It even included transortation for the guest from the ship to the ceremony site as well as for myself. We had our cake made speacial with whip cream instead of fondant or buttercream. It was so good. They did so much for us. Everyday there was something. From food to gifts. I would do it all over again. I just dont have anything bad to say. It was absolutley perfect! I am sure my sister's will be as well. Her's is on the 27th at 1030 on Deck 7 Aft.

Hope that answered your question

ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADEIRA TOUR MEMBERS

I still have not heard either by email or PM from the following tour members. Since we are up to 78 persons on the tour, it is important to finalize van travel arrangements. I am also going to send a PM to the people on the list as well.

If you are interested in the tour and have not PM'd or emailed me, NOW is the time. I would like to finalize this tour soon.

In your PM, I need to know if you are still going, if you need any car seats or booster seats for children traveling with you, any preferences with whom you would like to travel in the van and if you are tasting at Old Blandy's Wine Lodge.

If you have any questions on concerns, please do not hesitate to email or PM me.

I have caught up best I could.:surfweb: I am exhausted. My personal trainer worked me over today then I took a 1 hour class called body jam. It is a cardio class to music. Not what I thought it was. I quickly realized that fat old woman do not look good doing some of those hip rocking moves.:scared1: I also realized that I have lost some rythem, Hope I find it as I used to love to dance. Good night all.

That sounds fun. We've never been to the hot air balloon festival even though we've lived here in Rochester for about 15 years each (almost 8 of that together!!). It's definitely something we should add to our "to do" list.
(Although we did ride the balloon at DTD last year.....which was not the same, of course, but was still an enjoyable experience)

:)

You can always come to Arizona... we have one going this January which is turning out to be something big. Plus if I get off me rear, I'll be showing some art pieces
And you can walk on the London Bridge:yay:

Annie:flower3:

Ok everyone I need some ideas for the wording on the wristbands - we can only have 25 characters including spaces. What I came up with was:

Disney Magic WBTA 2010

this is 23 characters so it gets in under by just a few!

Any other ideas?

Krisann

That baby doll in Toy Stroy 3 really freaked me out :scared1::scared1:

OH yes. Forgot that one SHUDDER!

On a positive note though----Since the accident I have had the great pleasure of watching two of our lost girls' little sisters grow up and compete on our varsity team and graduate from our program (the most recent, and last, sibling---Emily--- actually was on our National Champion team this year and graduated just a month or so ago). It has been nice to see them carry their sisters' spirits and legacy! :littleangel:

Ah - that's so cool that they did follow in their footsteps. And you must be ecstatic to have seen Emily graduate. That's an amazing accomplishment. I remember (way back in '84) when our cheerleaders won the National championship in Dallas I think. In fact, the head cheerleader is now a PR person with the St Louis Rams organization. She got her start as a pro cheerleader. Always wanted to be one but my dad wouldn't allow me. Tried to get my girls into it but they went the sports route. Oh well, maybe I can persuade a future grandchild to be one. :confused3

Aye , that be tru

pirate:

Where has all the rum gone? pirate:

LOL He didn't know what to expect but I had told him it was a cool ride with loads of fun bits! He will never let me live it down!

:rotfl2::lmao:

OMG! That baby gave me nightmares! Almost as bad as clowns! :scared1:

OMG - IT!
I can NEVER look at clowns the same ever again or empty hotels either. Darn that Stephen King.
:upsidedow

Is that were you take a bunch of papers and throw them into the wind, to see were they spread to?

Cheers!! Looks like a first class cabin to me!!

This is similiar to what we printed on one set of bands. I like it! I think we had a band make who was concerned about printing "Disney" on it, so it worked out better too!

Payment sent!!

I have created a Jewellery Workshop spreadsheet on Google Documents. I will update this as and when I get additional information. I will still post a slimmed down version periodically on my post on thread 8, but this will be the most up to date version.

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc...k5VbnlRdTRpVC0wNHNnWlE&hl=en&authkey=CNeo7LsG

I have added columns for address received, payment received and will update this with the dates when this has been shipped and received once we get that far.

I am off to do some ordering. For the bulk of the supplies, I have to wait until everybody has paid, but I am ordering stuff from a total of 5 suppliers and I can order from 4 of them right now as they are just a few odds and ends from all but one supplier.

Corinna

PM and payment sent.

LOL they probably will then! In 08 I told him it was a fantastic ride so he went on it with me and almost pushed me over board! He couldn't believe it was so so bad!

For me it's the music...aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh. And yet, I will be taking DGD2 there in Dec. Must be love :lovestruc .

I wonder what the non DISers on this cruise are going to this of this cast and crew!!

They will all be jealous (I know I would).

Yeah I forgot to post that Jason's coworker decided she is willing to stay at our place to watch our cat, house, garden, cars and fish while we're gone...so that was a relief!

That's great news. Kenneling is not an option for our furgirl either.

I know with my friends its not the bit of paper its the financial security that worried them, families can become horrible after someones dies, I am sure every one can tell a story or two about this, I certainly can.Not that I am saying your family are horrible Erik and Jason but certainly I know len will be fine if I died, happy days:laughing: Actually, there is a bit in my will re my beagles to make sure they are cared for if anything happens to us,:confused3daft I know.

Not at all; you're just taking care of your babies. And some families can be, um, let's say, unpredictable (read "greedy") when it comes to where the $ goes.

Actually I heard that because Disney is in the business of selling wedding packages on their boats and/or in the parks....that they are super strict about "clandestine weddings" happening that havne't been booked and paid for....so if they think you're trying to hold a wedding on their property that isn't sanctioned you get in trouble----which is why it is apparently also official Disney policy that you can't be in the parks (and probably on the boat) in wedding attire unless you have actually booked your wedding through them----like they don't want people showing up and just having their own private wedding on the steps of cinderella's castle or on a beach at Castaway...or even to just show up and try to have their wedding photos taken there! :rotfl2:

Wow, there go my hopes of being mother of the groom. But seriously, you definitely want to protect each other, so maybe think sooner rather than later.

My DD (who is not on the cruise) was curious about the ages of the kids on the cruise. We had wanted to take 2 of the Gk's ages 15 and 12 but school schedule would not permit.
I have a 3yr9mo DD and a 6yr8mo DS.

I have been looking over the spread sheet I did up on Google for people to fill in - one of the things I added was how many nights on Disney/how many cruises = so far 27 people have answered and it is a total of

Keep adding info!

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc...GZ1dElOLS1KRF9GWDhwWkE&hl=en&authkey=CJmPqOcK

Krisann

I've updated the spreadsheet for our info. Added another 39 nights so we're definitely over 1000 nights in total

Hi everyone! I sent an email to DCL special events about the Champagne Girls party. Right now, the date and venue are undecided. I asked for a sea day, because I know most of us will be going ashore on port days. Looks like the event schedule is pretty full. Below is Dorothy's response, my answer, and Dorothy's second response. Please read them and send me your creative ideas! Connie

What about Tortola afternoon? Don't we have an early all ashore time from Tortola? Would it be possible to do it at 4pm that day?

This week has totally been turned upside down, so I'm still not home. Someone slow this chit chat down so I can keep up!! :upsidedow

Ok everyone I need some ideas for the wording on the wristbands - we can only have 25 characters including spaces....
Any other ideas?

I've come up with my own word to label this trip, although I can't come up with a phrase I like using the word due to the character limitations. Regardless, I'll throw it out there in case someone likes it and would like to incorporate it in a scrapbook or photo book. :)
