"Unleash the Villains" mayhem - Disney Parks Blog up if you want to comment

Didn't make it to the party but saw the fireworks perfectly from Pop 90's bldg. great view from the pool area.

Just got back to Pop. Its insane but I got to see the fireworks as the bus drove away so it wasn't a complete bust!

if more people used disney busses this would me a much smaller problem.....so let me hear about you driving to the parks eveyday so you dont have to wait for a bus...nights like this should only be for disney resort guests ONLY using provided transport.....:thumbsup2:cool1:

I won't even attempt to count the number of ways this is just wrong.

However, I think it is plain to see that Disney completely underestimated the crowds. A hard ticket event would have probably prevented most of the chaos.

I'm wondering with all the reports of the crowds and such, was this event open to Cast Members? Maybe all the ones who had off + the excitement of a non-ticketed event to the general public?

I went to Leap Year Celebration and the crowd level was fine until the other parks closed and the Cast Members all got off work! When we left, the wait times were insane (over an hour) at 2:30am!

Just wondering?

Castmembers and families are there too, I know for a fact. And I don't think there's anything wrong with it. ;)

The crowds were most likely heavily influenced by AP holders. I know at least 3 meetup.com groups had plans to get together there. One group that usually gets 5-10 people at a park meetup had 30+ people rsvp for this (including some CM's). I also have friends going outside of those groups.

With how popular the night was, I have to wonder if Disney will look at tonight's cash cow to become a new weekend ala Star Wars weekend.

Or worse a new hard ticket event on select nights.

If Disney made a Villians Weekend would you think they could sell it yearly?

I think Disney would be crazy not to at least consider some options after tonight.

How long before someone here comes up with the original idea for a whole park centered on villains? ;)

I would be at that park as often as I could

Are you kidding????

Disney Resort Guests only????

That will NEVER happen!

I don't think its a crazy idea. When we first saw the hours were from 8 pm to 1 am we thought it might be EMH related, like a free party for resort guests. It would have cut out some of the crowds.

Reading through this thread made me appreciate watching the fireworks on my laptop from the comfort of my bed!

I probably would have had a panic attack around all those people. If I had even made it through the traffic first.

I'll add something else about my experience. We left around 9:30 and were back at CBR in about 20 minutes. My daughter and I watched the fireworks from around the lake and they were nice. Still nothing beats the fireworks from the Last Tour of Endor party. That party was awesome and was done right! Not tonight's mess...

My hope would be to have them incorporate something like this into the pre-existing Halloween party, at least on a few nights. It would suck to have them close another park early at the same time of year. I'm sure some of the problem with tonight was that vacationers were looking for someplace else to go, and HS was the park of choice, since it was the only place open.

There is a similar hard-ticket event after the Tower of Terror 10-Miler - The Disney Villains Hollywood Bash. It's from 10pm - 4am on October 5th this year. I'm a volunteer for the race, so I'll get to join after I finish my shift (at 2:30am).

Was crazy crowded... Waited in line well over an hour to get a wrist band to get a t shirt... Was told enjoy the park and come back between 6-10 to buy shirt... That was another hour+ wait... Couldn't get near the stage.. Then waited over 2 hours in line for meet and greets... Finally gave up, took pictures from a distance and went back to resort. NIGHTMARE. Wall to wall ppl. However, before 3 pm park wasn't crowded. After 3 pm you had to spend all your time waiting..either.. In line for wristbands/shirts, holding a place near the stage, or holding a place in meet and greet lines.

I saw three types of people there. Families on vacation who thought it would be fun, hardcore villain fans, and and young adults there to get drunk and party. I think the party crowd was the largest percentage.

There is no way you can compare a (once a year) VILLIANS event to EMH.

Ya, still calling limiting this Villians event to 'Resort guests only' crazy.
