Official Wine & Dine 2018

Omg I would LOVE it to goes back to a night race! That’s why I signed up for it as my first HM 2016! #nightowl!

I'v only ran it the last two years. In 2017 the HM basically never sold out. In 2016 I remember it took a few days/weeks. I think that was the first year of the day race. I heard that 2015 (the aborted weather half-half marathon race I think) sold out very very quickly. Others on the Board will know the history better than I do, but the night races did sell out much faster than the day races do now.

Not usually.

It has seen a drop off in popularity since it dropped the night race. W&D was the first race I tried to sign up for in 2015 and it sold out in minutes. If it keeps the current cookie cutter format, I wouldn't expect it to go too quickly. If they move it back to a night race or add a similar wrinkle it could go very, very quickly, especially since it's the only RunDisney race weekend that occurs after April now...

Does this race even sell out the first day? From what I've seen, Princess is the only one you really need to be one top of things the day of registration to get.

I was gonna say the same thing - moving it back to a night race could be a game changer.

Just posted via "RezRuns" on facebook after conversation with Disney...Looks like we can all wait until Monday to find out!

Just yesterday I talked my sister-in-law into running the 5k with us. I hope it’s a technical issue and not a date change. DVC would be hit hardest if they do make one. Hope they make up their mind soon!

I really do not want a night race, personally. I also think if they're going to switch it up, they should have figured out these things WAY BEFORE the advertised pre-registration date!

I have a room booked... vacation requests submitted at work... I reorganized meetings in order to be in front of a computer at noon today... I was all ready to hand over my money! Oh well, guess we wait and see.

I work in a job that you need to put in time off well in advance as well and I took today and next tuesday off just to register cause I know 10Ks sell out uber fast....

ugg so frustrating

If they end up cancelling or moving, I feel bad for anyone that bought the RunDisney DVC packages

I have a room and challenge registration booked already through a TA. I really hope they don’t move it or cancel either. Disney doesn’t seem to ever want to improve their communication.

Why do we think they would cancel? Based on anything we know?

Chef Tony seems like a weird fit for Animal Kingdom .... that’s my only takeaways.
ITA!
He pulls out what's inside, and he serves it up fried! :crazy2:  :rotfl2:
ACK!!!! :scared1:

I might have missed this but did the prices go up? I paid $180 for the WDW Marathon in January, and the Wine and Dine Half is $200? Seems odd that I am paying $20 more for half the distance.
W&D was $199 last year, too. That includes the after-party and a $15 gift card. It's still stupid-expensive, but that's why it's more stupid-expensive than marathon weekend, lol!

Just as a reminder, inside info told that rD abandoned night races due to insurance issues regarding weather. Given how volatile weather has been since then, I have a hard time believing that has changed.

The run Disney AP registration page is now re-directed back to the rundisney event page and does not have the SWDS registration page coming up as it has been previously.
