If you've got a history with Amex, they will usually just soft pull you for a new approval. Eventually a new hard pull happens. If you're denied with history, they won't hard pull you though. So you don't have to worry about a wasted inquiry with Amex (usually).

That's what I figured as I remember AmEx doing a SP every few months before. This is my first AmEx in 17ish years so I thought maybe they would HP to get whatever it is they want with a HP they don't get with the SP (otherwise why does anyone do a HP if you already have an established relationship?) AmEx must be hard up or very generous (thank you everyone that pays them $$$$ in AF each year to keep the generosity going )

I think the “girls” on this thread are decidedly ungirly. And I mean that in a good way. A roomful if women can be catty and snarky (and not in a funny sarcastic way). Look at some of the other threads on Dis that get out of control. I know there are catty men too but...

I am always amazed at reading folks who have real businesses getting so much hassle to open a business card and then someone with a "business" whips right by with an instant approval for the same card. I'm guessing if your business has a credit report (or whatever they call D&B) it might go through the full credit evaluation vs those of us with a "business" just hitting a personal report. Who knows? Fingers crossed for you.

But I'm starting to wonder about the SPG business card maybe not doing a HP if they know you. They advertise the 30 second decision and as fast as computers are these days can't imagine it got the info, put it through the algorithm and displayed a decision in that short of time. I have credit monitoring from one of the many security breaches in the last couple years and so far they are johnny on the spot when an inquiry or new account pops up on one of the reports... I think I got an email about my Discover inquiry before I finished the full approval process (which took all of 20 minutes or so). It's been 5 days since I was approved for the SPG biz and not a peep from the service.

I know, it’s crazy! I’ve resisted d&b—they call fairly often but I hate giving out info if I don’t have to—but I may go for it and see if that helps. Thanks for the crossed fingers

Re soft/no pulls for Amex. This is DH’s first Amex so I’d be surprised if they didn’t do a HP. But it was fast.

When I first joined the DIS, I posted on a thread on the family forum and literally, got eaten alive. I almost left this board. I couldn't believe how hostile all those ladies were and I told them so...which, of course, didn't go over well. So, I didn't post for like a year lol! Once I found the GC, SB's and eventually this thread, I realized this was where all the *nice* people were. I don't venture too far from 'home'.

I have to say the budget board seems to be the most friendly and inclusive, there's a few crusty folks, but mostly everyone is always ready to share ideas and stories and not hoarding it all for themselves, and even after someone has asked for the 60th time if really, I can use a BB GC to buy a Disney GC and not have to buy anything else and they allow it?!? another budget boarder will enthusiastically respond Yes! and here are 4 other tips I've found. So I've been here mostly for a while now... I feel a little like I abandoned the cruise board but I don't cruise as often as half that board so I'm sure they're not missing me I'm pretty sure about a thousand of my posts are all here on the budget board... and probably in those same threads!

You're welcome. It is definitely one of the most complicated (and misunderstood) discounts that Disney puts out. We always travel that time of year and once I "cracked the code" so to speak, it made it much easier to evaluate that discount vs. other discounts at the same time period and determine which was best. AND Me + Math Problems = Fun!
