Can these Limited Magic events get any worse!

I would like it if they made an effort to plan and announce their LTM events ahead of time. We have to plan trips a year in advance and after we make our ADRs 180 days out there's not much room for flexibility. I wish they would give more notice, but announcing them a few days in advance means that we won't be able to plan to ensure we CAN take advantage of LTM.

Yes I think they overhyped it at first because they said they had a 'big' announcement. The long lost characters week caught my eye but I didn't know when it was so couldn't plan a trip!

I would love to see LTM like

1) Tapestry for one week
2) Retro Week. In which we get E Tickets and old 1971 Park Maps and other souvenirs they might of given out when the park first opened.
3) Night Safaris week at DAK.
4) Disney Afternoon week. Remember Duck Tales!!
5) I love parades and would love to see a LTM at MK centered around them. I know that is not possible to have all the parades back do to $$ but how about some combination of past parades?
6) Christmas in July. Let’s have the Christmas parade in July for one week.
7) How about "you" ! So you just rode Soarin and you can’t get enough and want to go one more time. So stay on it! :)
8) Duffy Bear takes a Holiday week. you can great duffy at every WS country wearing a costume authentic to the country.
9) Same goes for all the Fab five. I want to see Minnie wearing a Kimono!!

I absolutely love these ideas!!! Why don't you write to Disney suggesting them? I would get excited about going then! The number 9 maybe wouldn't be too viable though. Minnie being in all the WS countries at the same time might confuse some kids. I agree that I'd love to see Minnie wearing a kimono, intact I'd buy one myself so we'd match lol!!!

I feel like ever since year of a million dreams, the park promotions have just gone downhill. LTM sounds like a bunch of the reject ideas from previous meetings that they didn't want to throw away. Plus, what is even the appeal in "limited time" magic? Shouldn't the magic be more of an ongoing thing?? I don't think the fairy godmother would approve of magic being limited. Maybe this promotion is geared more towards locals so that they have a reason to come more often just to see something different? Either way, it's lame. They'd pull in way more people if they used their famous creativity and imagination that they encourage to come up with some more magical ideas.

They should have run "Long Lost Friends" all year long. They could have rotated different ones in and out over the course of the year. I think it would have been very well received and probably wouldn't have broken the bank.

I will agree.....they came right out and threw this promotion in our face. I know ice generally lasts a limited amount of time....perhaps that is what they meant to say.

Unfortunately it only lasted until March when the number of volunteers reached capacity.

I think it would be cool if they did something at the resorts. What if at random times throughout the day a character or two showed up in the lobby, food court, or pool and mingled with the guests there. I think that would be very exciting and unique.

I wish they just wouldn't do a promo if it isn't going to be worth it. Maybe the new promo could have been "enjoy New Fantasyland". ;)

I'm not sure how many locals went to Cosmic Rays for Limited Time Soup when there is better parking at Panera's.

I love both of these ideas :thumbsup2

I'm a Phineas and Ferb fan so I'm loooking forward to Dr. Doofenschmirtz week. He will be narrating all of your favorite attractions, including Wishes, Spaceship Earth, IASW, and of course everyone's favorite transportation in the sky: The Monorail!

Seriously, Disney dropped the ball on this year's promotion.

Parade narration!

"Here come the Incredibles...and by that I mean they're totally credible."

I'd meet John Carter if he wears a loincloth.

For St. Patrick's day maybe they can have Mickey dress up as St. Patrick and the other characters dress up as snakes and St. Patrick can drive all the snakes out of the Magic Kingdom! :rotfl2:

I don't know about you, but I would call a large ice sculpture of the castle at Times Square along with characters hype. It was very much hyped by Disney. However, there was an immediate negative response by many on blogs and message boards. I think Disney recognized that their promotion was a dud and then started downplaying it.

Never saw that, never knew about it. That is why I'm thinking how hyped up it is depends on where you live. Outside of the Dis and Disney's own web site, I have never seen a single thing about LTM.

If they are downplaying the promotion maybe it is time people lowered their expectations of it, and stopped expecting it to be great.

Now that would be an interesting promotion theme right there! Lower your expectations, and stop expecting it to be great. The Disney Magic.

"Lowered Expectations Week". Man, I hope they save this for later in the year when we go........ :rolleyes1
