This year I submitted a half marathon time of 2:13 and was in corral H for the marathon. We went off just before 6am.
Thanks! Guess we'll have plenty of time for photo stops in the first half!

I am now officially Goofy. I have been on the fence, but decided to jump in before the price increase. I did the WDW Marathon in 2013, but wasn't sure when my next full or if I'd be able to do Goofy. Spectating last year's full marathon - seeing all the Goofy bibs - was really inspiring. I'm in!

I think most of the ones who are interested already signed up for Dopey. It's really taken a huge chunk of the Goofy runners.I am truly amazed, yesterday was the last day to avoid the price increase and Goofy only went from 72% full to 74% full. This is for the 10th anniversary of the challenge when I thought it would sell out in a day.Guess there's not as many people out there as I thought that are ready to do a half and full back to back.
Run slowly. With the new course, the coaster is at roughly mile 13 and opens at 9am. That means you'll need to run a 2:30-3:15 first half, depending on which corral you start in. The closer your corral is to the front, the slower your first half will have to be.
Hi guys!! Kind of interested in trying this race..but I'm not a very good runner...and 39 miles!?!? How long of a race is it usually??

I thought I had read somewhere that they let runners through the fastpass line. Is this true, or is the regular standby line the way to go?
Which couldn't you easily do a 12-16 min mile like, speed/mall walking??
Maintaining a 16:00/mile pace isn't too taxing, but it would still add up over the course of 13.1 and 26.2 miles, let alone the two on back-to-back days. And it wouldn't leave much time for bathroom stops (or photo ops). Professional speed walkers might be able to keep a faster pace, but most people's version of speed walking probably isn't going to approach 12:00/mile (5 mph), and attempting to do so could lead to an unnatural gait that could lead to injury over that length of time.
Disney's pace requirements is lenient in the grand scheme of pace requirements out there, but don't mistake that for meaning it's something that can easily be done -- even those planning to walk it should train for the longer distances to help ensure that they can maintain the pace for a good length of time and, perhaps even more importantly, avoid injuring themselves in the process.
I am normally in the 11-12 min/mile range with run/walking, but during the marathon in 2014, my average pace was somewhere around 14-15 min/mile. I think my slowest mile was like 20 minutes! This was a combination of a lot things:
1) Trained in the fall/winter in NJ and was not used to the heat and humidity (and it wasn't even that hot!). I was slower and just felt sick for a good portion of the race
2) Stopped for 3 bathroom breaks
3) Stopped for photos
4) My longest training run was only 20 miles and I really slacked on the shorter mid-week runs. I think if my weekly mileage had been higher I would've been fine
My point here is just to reiterate that the pace is not as easy/slow as it sounds!
Goofy people! Race shirt and medal!
I cannot believe there are still open spots for Goofy - only 85% full after both price increases!
It's definitely a little bit of a twist on their normal shirt design. I like that the shirt and medal sort of "go together" with the dots. I wonder if this is a preview of what the other shirts will look like?I'm sure it will look better in person, but right now it's "meh" to me. I liked the black one from last year (I think? I didn't run it, just saw people wearing them).
