The L Word, Season 5 (May Have Spoilers)

That episode was amazing I have watched it 3 times now! The Alice/Colonel scenes were amazing. I will admit at first I was quite unsure about the fact that Tasha was going to win the trial because how often to GLBT service members not get kicked out once there has been an accusation. Granted I am sure it helps if you have someone like Alice as a friend and the lead prosecuter is a lesbian herself. So as much as I love to see Tasha in Dress and in her BDUs:worship: I am much happier seeing her be out and swinging Alice around the parking lot.

though I did like the Alice/Colonel sequences

Wait, hold the presses, I haven't seen the episode YET..... Does this mean my theory from one of my earlier posts was correct? Did Alice out the Colonel?

In a very funny way... it's almost as if the Col outs herself!!!

But, yes, you were right on!

Yeah they hint at it earlier in the episode in a locker room scene...and then Alice starts being Alice and the Colonel freaks. Nice call on that!

The only problem with the episodes being on our chart is that then the wait for the next weeks episode is so much longer...

I really liked this episode. I wouldn't have recognized Kelly McGillis! What does everyone think about Cybil's daughter? She's kinda cute~

Okay, I finally caught up to the point where Tasha wins the trial! That was awesome. I never thought Tasha would take it where she did though! I almost don't believe what happened...her personality would never have led me to believe she would do what she did. But hey, maybe in the next episode we'll see more of why she did it, etc.

So last night's ep. was "eh..." = not the best, not the worst. I'm interested to see how My Lover Cindy works out on Jenny's set. I'm glad that maybe the two venues will learn to co-exist, but I'm sure that'll change.

Probably the most interesting of the ep. was Shane and the straight girl (Molly?) got together. Well, not the actual act, but hearing the conversation b/n Molly and Phyllis afterwards. Shane hearing that she's not the most intelligent girl in the world and Molly saying that she's "easy and uncomplicated". I figured that it was an odd compliment and Shane appeared to have taken it the wrong way and "the Other" thinks that it wasn't meant to be a compliment. We'll see. The clips from next week make it seem like Shane didn't take it too hard, but maybe that's how they meant to cut it.

The sex montage at the end was a little much. I get it I get it, EVERYone got it on. EVERYone. I know that fans wanted more in this season, but the writers seem to have gone a little overboard.

Oh...and the kiss between Adelle and Niki? Eeek! Yucky. I can see where the mistake could have been made since Adelle is just a bad photocopy of Jenny, but I feel bad for Niki for making that mistake. Hmm.. I haven't figured out Adelle's angle yet - she seems to be positioning herself to mess up everyone's lives, or ruin the movie, but she's just shady enough that I can't figure it out yet.

Anyone else's ideas?

I agree with you - Adele's sinister nature has been showing more and more.

Can I just say that I am so happy Max got laid?! That poor boy has been the only character who doesn't get it on, and he is finally getting some too. Yay!

Did anybody notice how sneaky the promos were, making it look like Jodi's sour face was reacting to Bette saying "I'm in love with Tina" - and then it turns out Bette said that with her back turned and the sour face was about something else?

I think I have said this before, but I don't want Bette and Tina to get back together, then they will get rid of Jodi! I used to want them back together, back when they first broke up, but now I wish they would actually get to see the therapist and he would smack some sense into them and tell Bette to stay with Jodi. I just know they're going to get rid of her!

I'm not a fan of the Jodi character. But that aside, it may have been Marlee Martins decsion to move on. She did sign up for Dancing With the Stars.

Women that love Disney and The L Word. I found the right place!

I think this season is great and the TiBette love scenes are well...hot:cool2:

Hey welcome VanTassel - noticed that your first post was the one on this thread. Sweet.

I was looking for an L Word thread, but I could not find it. Is anyone else excited about Sunday's premier? I've been waiting for 3 months for it, since the DVD for the fourth season was released.

Any thoughts on what may happen?
hey so have i and OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, I'm so excited to see a thread for THE L WORD! :rotfl:

I love this show and I think it's incredible that in it's 5th season this series is still rockin. I'm a big fan of "Alice" and "Shane"...those are my girls.

OK, I get that this show feels the need for crossover appeal, but when I watched the scene between Jenny and the actress last night I thought I was watching male-driven soft porn. Yuck.

Aside from that I loved it - but I'm a camper from way back.

That scene was definitely intended for their male viewers. The camping.....well it actually made it look somewhat fun (this coming from a girl who thinks camping at the wilderness lodge is roughing it:rolleyes1 ).

Allo luvies!

Let me preface this by saying that I think Home Depot would do well to have a shoe aisle and maybe a little coffee cafe - then I would enjoy it as much as my DP, Deni; however, since HD and camping are in the same category for me - after watching last night's episode - I'm ready to to buy a tent - grab some marshmallows and head into the woods...excuse the thread's longest run-on sentence ever and I just can't seem to stop...somebody slap me....

On another note, Molly (Clementine) looks exactly like her mother when she was younger. I wonder how they handle being on the set together. Might have to google to see if they've done any interviews.

Adele is scaring me though...

I just saw on AOL that the L Word has been cancelled!

LOS ANGELES (March 10) - "The L Word" is set to take its final bow.

Showtime has renewed the lesbian drama for a sixth and final season, which will make it one of the premium network's longest-running series. Eight episodes have been ordered, targeted to go into production in early summer for an early 2009 premiere.

While past seasons generally have consisted of 12-13 episodes each, Showtime executives and series creator/executive producer Ilene Chaiken believed that eight additional episodes were creatively what was needed to wrap up the story lines.

"The L Word" follows a group of Los Angeles-based friends as they navigate careers, families, friendships, personal struggles and romantic relationships. The series became the first lesbian primetime drama on television when it debuted in January 2004. Its stars include Jennifer Beals and Mia Kirshner.

Chaiken, who created the series with Kathy Greenberg and Michele Abbott, said the show will live on, interactively.

"This is by no means the end of 'The L Word,"' she said. "The brand and the social network community, OurChart.com, will continue to live and be a destination for lesbians everywhere and a lasting tribute to what 'The L Word' has accomplished."

She added that fan input will play a part in wrapping up the series' story lines, noting the role that viewer input has played in the past.

"The L Word," which received a GLAAD Award for best drama series, also has a big following in virtual world Second Life and has spawned such branded products as perfume, jewelry and books. The Season 5 finale is set to air March 23.

This is sad news indeed.
